“The Kids Are Alright” poster for The Who. For those who question why they are playing at the Super Bowl, I submit, Exhibit A: when smashing a guitar wasn’t a ritual affectation of youthful angst, but more the petrified actions of someone thinking they were being eaten alive by a fire-breathing guitar due to tripping on some bad acid.
